Sarah's Lip Plumper

I have naturally full lips, however; there are days that I feel like I want to make them a little fuller and sexier (although, if you asked me this a few years ago, I would have probably said, no way! hahaha)

I have come up with a great solution. Although, it isn't as good as commercial marketed plumper (which I refuse to lie and say it is), it's still good, regardless and does the job.

Sarah's Lip Plumper

1 tsp of Vaseline
½ tsp of Beeswax
¼ tsp of Aloe
¼ tsp of Cinnamon (preferably ground)
½ tsp of Ginger (preferably ground)
½ tsp of Cayenne Pepper (preferably ground)
1 drop of Peppermint Extract (or you can use Cinnamon Extract)

Take the vaseline and aloe and mix it with the beeswax. You then want to combine the cinnamon, ginger, and cayenne pepper to the mix of vaseline, aloe, and beeswax. Finally, you want to add 1 drop (2, at the most) of peppermint or cinnamon extract.

To test it, apply to your lips. You will notice a slight stinging sensation on your lips and your lips may even numb a little.

It's best to have a container available, so you can add your lip plumper to it. Some people use regular plastic small containers, others use empty lip gloss jars, others use a craft they made, and others use empty film containers.

Keeping this product fresh, shouldn't be a problem, but if you notice a change in color, texture, and flavor; throw it away immediately.

Sarah's Carrot Facial

Sarah's Carrot Facial

Witch Hazel Skin Toner

Witch Hazel Skin Toner
I absolutely love witch hazel! I will talk about the origin of witch hazel at a later date, but in the mean time, I just have to say, it is an amazing astringent that gently tones the skin. People assume that witch hazel is mainly used for sores, bruises, and swelling; but that is definitely NOT true. This anti-oxidant can be used in a variety of ways, involving not just skincare, but also a cleaning product, as well. I use witch hazel as a toner, after I wash my face regularly with face wash. I believe witch hazel truly disciplines the skin. I've used several astringents and really find witch hazel to be one of the most natural, better substitutes.

Plastic Surgery

Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is special surgery that uses a variety of techniques to enhance someone's physical appearance. Plastic does NOT refer to plastic, as in the element plastic; but a technique used to mold or sculpt one's physical stature.

Plastic surgery has existed since ancient world. It was started in India. It wasn't performed until the 15th century, where it became a rise in Europe. Up until techniques were mastered and anesthesia was introduced, people actually died as a result from complications of infections. It wasn't until the inventions of antibiotics, as well as, sterile techniques and disinfectants, that infections were reduced and the result of risky surgery was decreased. The first plastic surgeon in the US performed his first surgery in the 1800s

There are two major forms of plastic surgery. They are...

Reconstructive Surgery - Surgery that is necessary for enhancement due to significant problems that effect a person's physical ability. Surgery you do need, but also may want/not want. Some examples are: Contracture surgery for burn survivors and Mastectomy for women with breast cancer.

Cosmetic Surgery - Surgery that is for personal enhancement purposes. Surgery you don't need, but want. Some examples are: Abdominalplasty (or "Tummy Tuck") and Breast Augmentation (or "Breast Implants")

As I have never had any plastic surgery in my life, I believe with any surgery of the sort, there are risks. I have to admit though, there have been instances where I have felt ugly and depressed, but I have learned to pick myself up. I am my biggest critic, my worst enemy, my best friend until the end. Right now, I am content with the way I look, so I'm not considering plastic surgery right now. However; I may consider plastic surgery in the future, but right now I am satisfied.

Sarah's Lip Gloss

Someone recently asked me "Sarah, how do I make my own lip gloss?" and proceeded to say "I've always wanted to know how I could make great lip gloss"

Well, now you can. I have created several recipes, however; today I will share the most common, most simple lip gloss recipe, of them all.

Sarah's Lip Gloss

Bees Wax
Coconut Oil
Petroleum Jelly

Candy Melts (or you can use food coloring)
Candy Flavoring (It can be anything from oil based to extract)
Small Container(s) (these can be anything from 35 mm film containers to carry beads to general plastic crafts to fishing tackle, and much more)

You are going to start by grating some bees wax onto wax paper (it's best to purchase the bees wax already grated. If you don't, I would recommend using a grater for this). You then, want to measure ¼ teaspoon grated wax into a plastic bag (Ziploc bags work great). After that, you want to add about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of the petroleum jelly, and 1 candy melt (or about 1-2 drops of food coloring). You then want to add about 3 drops of your candy flavoring (that is basically for your oil based flavoring, if you decide to use extract, make it about 1 drop).

You then want to seal the plastic bag and carefully put it into a bowl of hot tap water to melt ingredients for about 3-5 minutes. (Do NOT use a microwave or the stove, to heat the water) Once all the ingredients are melted, remove the bag from the water. Squish ingredients around in bag to mix. You want to work as quickly as possible. After you are done, clip off a tiny corner of the bag and squeeze gloss into the clean container (whether that be your 35 mm film container or plastic container or something else). After you have squeezed your gloss into the container that you choose, let it set for about an hour. Some people even refridgerate it for about 10-15 minutes.

Use a a makeup brush or a cotton swab to apply gloss (I wouldn't recommend using your fingers). Your lip gloss should last a long time. If it changes color, odor, or texture, throw it away.
