A Look at the Best Black Lipsticks of 2011

Black lipstick is a tentative, yet very audacious lipstick shade. It is also very bold and dramatic. It is a well known fact that not everyone can pull it off, but those that can, enjoy it. Whether you are spontaneous and need a change or simply are looking to try something different altogether, black lipstick is right for you. Although it may not be everyone's "cup of tea" it exists for a reason. I have decided to narrow down the many black lipsticks to only the best of 2011.

One of the greatest black lipsticks of 2011 is definitely Make Up For Ever's Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in "50". Available at Sephora, this lipstick shade is a nice, satin black shade. Although the shimmer is very light, the shine is more observable. If you know anything about Make Up For Ever's lipsticks, they are bank. Make Up For Ever Rouge Intense lipstick can be purchased for just $19. Whether you want to create a gothic inspired makeup look or just create an image that is dramatic, be spontaneous and go for it.

I have to be honest, when I first discovered black lipstick, I was quite indisposed about even giving it a second look, let alone trying it. Then I saw a few makeup looks via YouTube, where I discovered that it actually can work on other days aside from Halloween. If you are looking for a great black lipstick, I would definitely recommend Illamasqua lipstick in "Pristine" You can purchase Illamasqua's lipstick for only $22 at Sephora or your nearest Illamasqua retailer. Illamasqua's lipstick in Pristine really does prove to be a rather pristine lipstick.

Black lipstick may seem uncommon, but it truly does subsists for a raison d'être. If I had to choose my personal favorite black lipstick, I would definitely go with Urban Decay lipstick in "Oil Slick". The thing I love most about Oil Slick is the fact that it is an extremely glossy black that is relatively sheer and possess silver glitter effects. It is a lipstick that is more flexible per say then your average black lipstick. Urban Decay's lipstick is available for just $22. You can purchase this lipstick at Sephora or any Urban Decay retailer. Out of all of the black lipsticks for 2011, this by far my personal favorite.

It's a well known fact that many of you reading this always purchase your makeup based on demand, more so than supply. When you frequent a store and you see something you love, you will purchase it. When you hear about the latest popular makeup item, you will purchase it. I bet the vast majority of you have never heard of Lime Crime cosmetics. One of the greatest black lipsticks of 2011 is definitely Lime Crime Opaque lipstick in "Styletto". Styletto is a very creamy black shade that is provoked by intense shine. It is definitely one of the best black lipstick shades of 2011 and I can't say that enough. Lime Crime Opaque lipstick can be purchased at the official Lime Crime cosmetics website for just $16. Some of the best kept secrets are those makeup lines that are not popular.

Despite black lipstick being rather exceptional, that doesn't mean that one should not wear it. You either love it or you hate it, however; if you do hate it, you can appreciate it, if you come across a look that you are inspired by, which includes it. One of my favorite black lipsticks is definitely NYX Round lipstick in "Penelope" which is a vastly rich black. NYX is a great makeup brand for those looking to save money, while enjoying quality cosmetics. For just $4, Penelope can be your's right now.

I remember watching a YouTube beauty guru doing a gothic inspired makeup look and using a black lipstick. In her list of products, she mentioned that she used "Naughty Nature". She forgot to say the brand of makeup and never included any information, other than the shade itself. So, being the curious woman that I am, I did a search to finally find out what she used was Sinful Color lipstick in "Naughty Nature". Naughty Nature is a very rich black with brown undertones. For just $4, this black lipstick can be your's today. Cherry Culture is a great place to find Sinful Color cosmetics. Don't hesitate or wait to purchase one of the best black lipsticks of 2011.

What I love most about the internet is discovering new products, especially those that are not as prevalent. I first encountered L.A. Girl years ago in a small store offline. I never tried their lipsticks, but did have the chance to try their eye shadow. I was impressed, I must say. For as affordable as L.A. Girl is, they definitely do deliver a promise. I was searching online for a black lipstick because I wanted to try a goth vamp inspired makeup look. That is when I found L.A. Girl Luxury Crème Color in "Dreamer". Dreamer is a very effervescent black. You can purchase L.A. Girl Luxury's Crème Color for just $3 at Cherry Culture. This addition to L.A. Girl definitely not only demonstrates, but proves why it is one of the best black lipsticks of 2011.

When searching for a black lipstick at Cherry Culture, I had the opportunity to come across L.A. Colors Matte lipstick in "Blackberry". This shade is very unique because it is a very rich black, but possesses some eggplant undertones. For just $2.50, you really admit that you can go wrong with purchasing this lipstick? Don't let the price fool you. This should be in your bag now, that is if you are looking for a black lipstick.

Quantity vs. Quality, is there really a true distinction? The reality is, yes, however; despite this, you can still make a product work if it generally works well. Black lipstick is generalized because it is not worn all of the time like pinks, nudes, beiges, reds, peaches, or berries. If you are looking for a black lipstick, you cannot go wrong with Wild and Crazy's lipstick in "Sensibility". Sensibility is a deep black shade that is semi-matte. You can buy Wild and Crazy lipstick at Cherry Culture for only $2.

Black lipstick is certainly a guilty pleasure to some. If you are one of those people that makes up that status quo of society, well you will definitely appreciate Jordana lipstick in "Black". This lipstick is a vibrant black shade. The quality may not be as good as Make Up For Ever, Illamasqua, or Urban Decay, it is also $1.49 making it incredibly affordable for those looking to save $20. You can purchase Jordana lipstick at Cherry Culture or select Jordana retailers.

Black lipstick doesn't have to be worn at just Halloween. When collaborated with other shades, black lipstick actually works for a wide-range, variety of makeup looks. Once one goes black, do they ever go really back? One thing is certain, nothing is better than being daring.

A Look at the Best Fuchsia Lip Glosses of 2011

Fuchsia lip gloss epitomizes a voguish demeanor. It is a shade of gloss that represents an unconventional fad that works for just about anyone wanting to achieve noticeably fuchsia color lips without radical visibility. One thing is certain, there are an array of fuchsia lip glosses in the beauty world today, however; there are only a few out of the many that deserve to be acknowledged for being amazing. I have decided to narrow down the numerous fuchsia lip glosses to those few that deserve recognition for 2011.

A few years ago, I was introduced to Yves Saint Laurent's Golden Gloss when shopping at Sephora. After using the product, I will admit, I became an enthusiast. It is now 2011 and I am still a fan. If you are looking for simply a bright fuchsia pink lip gloss, you are ordained to love Yves Saint Laurent's Golden Gloss in "4 Golden Fuchsia". Not only is this lip gloss highly pigmented, but it possesses ingredients that work together to create amazing lips. Gold works as an antioxidant, so this is also one of the few lip glosses in the world today that is infused with authentic gold elements. 4 Golden Fuchsia can be your's for just $30. You can purchase Yves Saint Laurent at select YSL retailers or at Sephora. Yves Saint Laurent's Golden Gloss is easily one of the best lip glosses I have ever used in my life, so if you are wanting to purchase the best, the time is now to do so.

Searching for a fuchsia lip gloss should never be time consuming, let alone problematical. If you are looking for a soft fuchsia shade with a little bit of glitter, you are not only destined to appreciate Dior's Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in "Outrageous Fuchsia 686" but love it for what it is, a subtle fuchsia. Dior's lip gloss products are not just highly pigmented, but they are long-lasting and deliver a hydration that is paramount. You can purchase Dior Addict Ultra Gloss for $26.50 at Sephora or your nearest Dior retailer. It is a well known fact that Dior is one of the best cosmetic brands in the world today, so if you are looking for a fine, understated fuchsia gloss, Outrageous Fuchsia 686 should be in your bag right now.

If you are looking for a fuchsia lip gloss that is iridescent, yet shimmer, you are going to love Guerlain's Kiss Kiss Gloss in "Amethyst Pearl 822" which is a stunning shimmering iridescent fuchsia. If you know anything about Guerlain, you will know that despite their amazing packaging, their products are not only high end, but significantly incredible. I love the Kiss Kiss Gloss simply because it's very hydrating and long-lasting. Also, like many other great, high end beauty products, it is very pigmented. You can purchase Guerlain's Kiss Kiss Gloss at Sephora or your nearest Guerlain retailer. The best of the best can be hard to find, however; it is 2011 and time has managed to make things easier for everyone. Once you try several products and understand what to look for in a product, you are destined to discover how easy it actually is.

Mac Cosmetics is one of my favorite cosmetic brands. It is not everyday that you will find a makeup line that possesses so much diversity and variety. Everything from the products to the individual concepts. Mac Cosmetics is also known for creating some of the finest lip products. Mac's lip glosses are highly pigmented, yet hydrating. If you are looking for a dramatic, yet intense fuchsia with a little bit of sparkle, you are going to love Mac's Superglass in "Totally Bang!" which is just that, an intense fuchsia with a little bit of sparkle. Another favorite fuchsia lip gloss that I love is definitely Mac's Lustreglass in "Hashmode" which is a stunning fuchsia with a white sparkle pearl finish. I am a huge fan of Hashmode. Mac's Superglass is $18. Mac's Lustreglass is $14.50. You can purchase these from the official website or your nearest Mac counter. Mac Cosmetics is always coming out with new products, as they are always introducing new collections. Before you know it, they will be coming out with another great fuchsia lip gloss.

Fuchsia is a shade that underlines on a bright, dark pink wavelength. Similar to magenta, it possesses an aura that is bright and intense. Although it can be hard to find, it does exist. Sometimes the best lip glosses are natural and in the case of Tokidoki's Prisma lip gloss in "Arlecchino" this is very true, as Arlecchino is a sheer fuchsia. I love this color because despite being sheer, it is still remotely visible and highly pigmented. I love Tokidoki lip glosses because they are long-lasting and highly moisturizing. You can purchase Tokidoki Prisma lip gloss for just $15 at Sephora or your local Tokidoki retailer.

After you encounter that there are thousands upon thousands of different types of lip glosses, you will find that there are only a few that possess a competence. When it comes to lip gloss, you can expect dramatic results, but definitely not as dramatic as you would if you were to use a lipstick. If you are looking for a heavily pigmented, yet an enormously high gloss fuchsia lip gloss, I truly recommend Stila's Lip Glaze in "Raspberry". The thing to love most about Raspberry is the fact that is very visible, yet very vibrant. Stila Lip Glazes are only $22. Stila Lip Glaze can be purchased at Sephora or your local Stila retailer. Don't hesitate to purchase this, just do it!

There are so many different types of fuchsia lip glosses that I have discovered in the past 5 years alone. I actually always find myself contemplating and debating which products a have an edge, but once you actually try a lip gloss and discover that it is pigmented, long-lasting, and hydrating, you learn to accept and appreciate the good ones'. One of the good ones' is definitely Tarino Tarantino Gem Gloss in "Fuchsia Revolution". Fuchsia Revolution is a very vibrant hot pink. If you are looking for a very bright fuchsia lip gloss, I truly do recommend this one. Tarino Tarantino Gem Gloss can be purchased at Sephora, QVC, or your nearest Tarino Tarantino retailer. What is better than being daring, being spontaneous? You are fabulous, remember that, so you owe it yourself to look and feel it too.

You have to admit, not every shade of any product will ever be 100% the same. You can find so many dupes, but even they possess differences. If you are looking for a sparkling fuchsia that is light, yet natural, you are going to love Benefit's Ultra Shine Lip Shine in "Back To The Fuchsia" which is a sparkling fuchsia. I enjoy Benefit cosmetics lip products because they are highly moisturizing and long-lasting. Benefit's Ultra Lip Shine is only $18 and can be purchased at Sephora or your nearest Benefit cosmetics retailer. I think if you are searching for a good fuchsia lip gloss and you purchase this one, you may find that this lip product benefit fits you more than the benefit that Benefit cosmetics will receive.

It is 2011 and it is a well known fact that not everyone uses a product that contains parabens, let alone synthetics. If you are one of those people, you probably know about Korres. Korres is a beauty brand that emphasizes on using only natural products rather than synthetic problems to create cosmetics. If you are looking for a shimmering, yet muted fuchsia, you will truly love Korres Cherry Full Color Gloss in "Fuchsia 54" which is a shimmering subdued fuchsia. Korres Cherry Full Color Gloss is only $17 and can be purchased at Sephora or your nearest Korres retailer. If you use natural products, want to use natural products, or simply want to try a nice product, I truly recommend this one.

Sephora is an internationally known beauty boutique that carries an array of lavish beauty brands that range from Dior to Yves Saint Laurent to Lancôme to NARS, and many many more. What you don't realize is, Sephora's individual brand carries some of the finest beauty products in the cosmetic world. If you are looking for a lip gloss that is a highly pigmented fuchsia with pink and diamond glitters, you are going to love Sephora's Ultra Shine lip gloss in "Glitter Fuchsia 32". Most of the time Sephora lip glosses are just $14, however; because of the numerous sales they have on a daily basis, their lip glosses are often marked down to just $7. You can own a high end lip gloss today without spending a fortune.

NYX is one of my favorite cosmetic brands. I am not going to lie. Although the products are cheaper, the quality is almost as good as Mac. You are saving a lot of money and this brand is great for those looking for assortment and wide range. One of my favorite fuchsia lip glosses is definitely NYX's Diamond Sparkle lip gloss in "Fuchsia Sparkle" which is a very intense, yet dramatic and highly pigmented fuchsia with diamond glitter reflects. You can purchase this amazing fuchsia lip gloss for just $5.50, although, for a limited time, you can purchase this product for just $4.50. If you are looking to save money, you are going to love NYX. NYX is available at the official website, Cherry Culture, selected retailers, and through selected distributors.

Some of the beauty industries best kept secrets are definitely those makeup brands that possess good products for a fraction of the price. If you are looking for a sheer fuchsia lip gloss, I truly recommend Amuse's Diamond lip gloss in "Fuchsia" which is a sheer fuchsia lip gloss. I am not going to lie, the quality is not as good as the high end's, however; it is much cheaper and if you are budget conscious and want to save money, then you definitely should purchase this product. It is definitely not terrible and you get more than what you pay for. In fact, your expectations of this great addition to Amuse will be exceeded. Amuse is available at Cherry Culture for just $1.49. If you are looking for a good, fuchsia lip gloss that is extremely cheap, I truly recommend Amuse's Diamond lip gloss. You just cannot beat this price.

Fuchsia lip gloss is vastly becoming and although it is not worn often, it is worn by many. You don't have to let your 2011 shopping endeavors be arduous or sustained.

A Look at the Best Eye Lash Primers for 2011

Eye lash primers are essentially used as a base to your eyelashes. Not only does this base create the illusion of fuller, sexier eyelashes, it allows your mascara to last longer, as a result. Although not all eye lash priming products are the same, there are several that are good for your lashes and work as one dimensional treatment. Commonly known as mascara primer, eye lash primers tend to be not as popular as foundation and eye shadow primers. One thing is certain, I have tried numerous eye lash primers, so I have decided to narrow down the many eye lashing priming products I have tried to only the best of 2011.

One thing I love about Dior beauty is the fact that they rarely fail to disappoint me. Not only is Dior's Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum one of the greatest eye lash primers for 2011, it is one of the best lash priming products in the beauty market to date. I have tried this incredible eye lash primer and I have noticed that not only were the results instantaneous, but that my eye lashes improved. I didn't have bad eye lashes to begin with, but I did notice a radical difference. They were longer and possessed more volume. Dior's Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum is available at Sephora for just $28. Also, for a limited time Sephora is holding a promotion that if you buy this product, you will receive a free Diorshow Extase Mascara sample. If you are looking for one of the greatest eye lash priming products in the world today, I truly recommend this one.

Over the last month, I found myself discovering new products. I have tried a few bad apples, as I have tried a few great apples. In the case of this remarkable extra to Urban Decay, this is a great apple. If you love Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion, you are going to love the Eyelash Primer Potion. I was so impressed with this product on several wavelengths. I love the fact that my mascara not only lasted the entire day, but I also noticed a change in my lashes, a result. I felt they were fuller, yet more volumnized. The Eyelash Primer Potion is also free of parabens, making it a product you can trust. Urban Decay is not only vegan friendly, but it is cruelty free, so if you are looking to use a product that is ethical, Urban Decay's Eyelash Primer Potion is the product for you. You can get the Eyelash Primer Potion at Sephora for just $20.

Searching for a great quality eye lash primer should never be tricky. The only way it can become that way is if you make it that way. When shopping at the Mac counter at the Tyson's Corner Mall in McLean, VA I had the opportunity of discovering Prep + Prime Lash. Not only is this primer smudge and crease resistant, it is long lasting. Another reason to love this eye lash primer is the fact that it is moisturizing, as it coats and conditions the lashes. Mac's Prep + Prime Lash is available at your nearest Mac Cosmetics counter or at the official website for just $14. Whether or not you are a Mac enthusiast is irrelevant when purchasing one of their great products, but I guarantee you will become one once you use Prep + Prime.

I love Sephora! I notice that every time I go in there, I am always trying something new and I always end up purchasing something, as a result. I know a lot of people kind of neglect how amazing Sephora brand products are, as they are looking at the latest brand that Sephora carries, however; one of the worst things you can do is avoid Sephora branded products. One of the greatest eye lash primers (or mascara primers) in the beauty world for 2011 is definitely Sephora Collection's "Tricks Of The Trade" Perfecting Lash Primer. For only $12, this fantastic addition to Sephora proves why it is one of the best lash priming products. I noticed that not only did my mascara stay on and last all day, this product literally felt great on my lashes.

If you are a fan of organic makeup that is inspired by only natural products rather than synthetics, you are destined to love Tarte's MultiplEYE Natural Lash Priming Enhancer. Available at Sephora for just $22, Tarte's MultiplEYE Natural Lash Priming Enhancer demonstrates why it is one of the current, best lash primers in the beauty world right now. Not only is this product free of parabens, sulfates, triclosan, petro chemicals, or any synthetic dyes, this lash primer is made with only natural ingredients, making it very healthy for your lashes. The volume of your lashes will increase and you will notice that not only do results happen immediately, they continue to improve over time too. This is a definite must-have.

Giorgio Armani has created one of the greatest lash priming products of 2011. It is called the "Soft Lash Primer". I love the Soft Lash Primer because it truly is effective. Not only does this amazingly pristine addition to Giorgio Armani beauty create defined, intense lashes, it shapes them up by conditioning them. The entire formula is prodigious. For $28, Giorgio Armani's Soft Lash Primer can be purchased at Neiman Marcus or Sak's 5th Avenue. One of the best high-end lash primers and I can honestly say that you get what you pay for.

Milani is one of the most affordable makeup brands on the planet. Despite being relatively inexpensive, Milani definitely proves why they are at the top of their game in the beauty world. One of my favorite products by Milani is definitely "Build-A-Lash" which is two dimensional mascara that possess mascara on one end and eye lash primer on the other. You can find Milani's Build-A-Lash at Cherry Culture. For just $6.49, this is not only a product you can appreciate, but your bank account will much more so.

How to Make a Slashed Shirt

Slashed shirts are very fetching, yet current and have become an amazingly modern fashion vogue. Despite the fact that they are visibly striking and avant-garde, slashed shirts are one of the hautest additions to only the preeminent designer couture.

One day while flipping through a Victoria's Secret catalog, I noticed a very trendy, yet modish ensemble which consisted of a model wearing faded blue jeans and a slashed shirt. I was so exceedingly impressed with the shirt, but when I saw the price tag, I was rather indisposed. $70 for a shirt is really steep that simply looks like a shirt that has been cut in several places.

It was then, that I realized, I can make this, which is exactly what I am going to do today. Let's get started!

What you will need includes:

-T-Shirt

-Scissors

The shirt is going to need to lay flat on a hard surface, so it is best to have a nice, fat, area to work from. I am going to use my kitchen table to do this because I am here right now and this area fits the profile. You want to also make sure there is nothing around your area, as this makes working a lot easier both said and both done.

As you continue, you want to prepare your shirt. Any shirt will do, however; it is best to use a shirt that you don't wear often or is on the cheaper side to start. Once you have mastered the art of slashing shirts, then I would recommend using a shirt that costs a little more. I want my shirt to be au courant, yet trendy and sexy. I am going to use a regular, plain, black cotton t-shirt in a size extra small. I am usually a medium, but I want my shirt to be chic, yet sexy. I bought this plain black t-shirt second hand a while ago, so I am going to use this t-shirt.

Make sure that when you choose scissors, you go with a pair that can cut through a majority of fabrics. You don't want to use a thick scissors. I have a pair of surgical scissors that I like to use. I know not everyone has access to surgical scissors, so I am going to recommend that you use sewing scissors, as they are sufficient enough to cut through a shirt.

There are several ways of slashing shirts. You can do them vertical, horizontal, clock wise, etc. Today, I am going to do a simple horizontal slash. You want to begin by cutting small horizontal lines across the shirt. You want to make sure that the lines are parallel to one another, but also fairly separated. You want at least 2 inches in between the cuts. Keep in mind, you can add more cuts later on.

If you want your shirt to have two dimensions, you can go half away across the shirt and stop, leaving at least 4 inches in the middle of the shirt. For my slashed shirt, using my scissors, I am going to go the entire way across the shirt, leaving nothing in the center area of the shirt.

Once you have continued this, it is entirely optional and up to you if you want to take the cuts you created and stretch them out. I have tried this before and I do not like it, so I am going to refrain from doing this. I think it stretches the cuts out way too much and the slashed shirts look overly slashed.

I am going to begin by lowering the neckline of the shirt by trimming that section of the shirt. The neckline can be round, it can be square, it can be v-shaped, etc. Whatever you want it to be. Today, I am going to take my scissors and trim that section of the shirt in a shape of the v, as I find the v-neck to be the most appropriate.

The sleeves make the shirt interesting. After contemplating and debating whether or not I want to make my slashed shirt sleeveless, I have decided that I am going to keep them at the current length they are. Instead, I am going to take my scissors once again and just cut up towards the center. This will make the sleeves of my slashed shirt split, yet open. When (and if) you do this, it is important to stop once you get up towards the neckline. I am going to do this on the top, as well as, bottom. There should be about 4 open pieces per sleeve.

You are done. Congratulations, you have completed your slashed shirt. How did your shirt turn out? Are you happy with the result? What do you plan on wearing with it? What do you plan to do with it?

Makeup Product Reviews: Givenchy Blush Gelee Jelly Blush

When it comes to beauty, I truly believe that there are absolutely no limits. Whether you want to apply minimum or maximum, you are destined to enjoy the products that you are wearing. I have to admit, I am remotely selective when choosing any beauty essentials that work for me.

When shopping at Sephora recently, I discovered the Givenchy's Blush Gelee Jelly Blush. This is a new product that has been introduced by Givenchy and it is a Sephora exclusive, meaning you can only purchase it at Sephora. I have been a fan of several products from Givenchy, so I was attracted to this product. What made me intrigued by this product was the fact that the blush was a jelly texture.

I am so use to creams and powders textures, that I wanted to try something different. (Which we all know there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying something new from time-to-time.) Another reason I found myself being drawn to Blush Gelee Jelly Blush is the fact that the color was something that I could get use to, as the avowal on the label said the look of "pinched cheeks".

PROS

If you are one that is looking for easy applicator, you are definitely going to love Givenchy's Blush Gelee Jelly Blush. The foam applicator is so convenient, yet efficient, it makes the entire application incredibly simple.

The color is pigmented, so you are able to build color without this product making a mess. Whether you want to create a natural look or a more dramatic look, this blush allows you to do that. I am an NC42 in MAC Cosmetics shades, which is more on a darker beige wavelength. My skin undertone is more cool. When I applied the "Candide Pink" I was reluctantly surprised how visible Givenchy's Blush Gelee Jelly Blush was.

Then I applied this to my skin, after priming my face and applying my foundation, I noticed that this fabulous addition to Givenchy lasted the entire day for me. I am a huge fan of the application. If you are looking for a blush that is long-lasting, you are ordained to love this one.

CONS

There is only one shade and that shade "Candide Pink." This pink shade will not go, let alone show up with every skin tone. My friend Helena, who is African American, is NC50 in MAC Cosmetics shades, so her skin is more of a dark brown with pink undertones. She bought this blush and it didn't show up on her skin at all.

RATING - 89%

The Givenchy Blush Gelee Jelly Blush is $33. It is limited edition, you want to purchase this beauty product while you can. You can purchase this fine, high-end blush at Sephora. Would I purchase this product again? There is a distinct possibility.

Makeup Product Reviews: Sephora Collection's Perfecting Cover Foundation

If you know anything about Sephora, it's an internationally known beauty boutique that was founded in 1993. In the United States alone, there are over 250 Sephora stores. At Sephora, you can find some of the finest, high-end cosmetics in the world today that range from makeup to skincare to bath & body to hair care to fragrance and more.

Recently, when shopping at Sephora, I uncovered that the Sephora Collection has introduced a new foundation. The foundation is called "Perfecting Cover Foundation". When it comes to foundation, I always find myself being unbelievably choosy. My skin is on a combination wavelength and I tend use an array of foundations that just simply do not work, let alone work for me and my skin.

When looking at the foundation, one of Sephora's fine associates approached me explaining the product, emphasizing that the product is fairly new, and went on to say that she could match me, if I had some extra time. So, I decided to take her up on her offer.

PROS

One of the best things I love about Sephora's Perfecting Cover Foundation is the fact that it is full coverage. When I visited Sephora and was matched, I had a few minor breakouts due to stress. I was out of concealer, so I had to rely on foundation to cover the unexpected. This amazing addition to Sephora truly covered my breakouts, leaving my skin sublimely moisturized, as a result.

This foundation is non comedogenic (meaning - it does NOT clog pores or contribute towards acne), as well as, oil free, so it is a foundation that is available for just about every skin type under the sun. The label also states that the Perfecting Cover Foundation was tested under dermatological control and passed the test.

Another reason to love this remarkable supplement to Sephora is the fact that it is available in 12 shades. The lightest is "05 Porcelain" and the darkest is "65 Deep Ebony". If you are uncertain of what your shade is, you can visit Sephora and get matched. Although I was matched with "35 Bronze" I discovered that I am "30 Sand" which is a lot like NC42 in Mac Cosmetics.

When I read "free of parabens" on the label, I was kind of shocked. Although cosmetics are scientifically safe in theory, but I loved a lot about this product is the fact that it is free of parabens and other synthetics, making it ultimately natural and good for your skin, as a result.

CONS

If you are looking for light coverage, you are not going to find it with this foundation. Although the Perfecting Cover Foundation is non comedogenic, it is still full coverage.

When applying Sephora's Perfecting Cover Foundation after putting on my foundation primer, I noticed that it lasted a long time. However; when used alone, it tends to kind of fade throughout the day. If you don't use a foundation primer, before applying this foundation, it isn't going to last long.

RATING - 88%

The Sephora Collection Perfecting Cover Foundation is available at Sephora for just $22. Would I recommend this to everyone? No. Would I recommend this product at all? Yes. Would I purchase this product again? Quite possibly.

A Look at the Best Makeup Setting Sprays for 2011

Makeup setting sprays are used to create a luxuriant, yet luminous finish to your makeup. They are often used as the finishing touch to your makeup, creating a base that seals the makeup preventing makeup from vanishing and expunging. It is a product that I truly find important, especially if you are going to be away from your makeup bag for a long time. One thing is evident, however; makeup setting sprays are essentially important and once you discover them, you will make them a part of your every day makeup regimen. Out of the many makeup setting sprays on the beauty market today, I have decided to thin them down to only the best makeup setting sprays of 2011.

If you are looking for the best makeup setting spray in the beauty market today, I truly recommend purchasing MAC Fix+. I remember shopping at Belk at the Georgia Square Mall in Athens, GA. I was contemplating and debating whether or not I want to get my makeup done at the Mac Counter. After being influenced by the sales associate to do so, I caved in and decided to get it done. After my makeup was applied by the Mac makeup artist, she proceeded to use Mac's setting spray on my face. This truly worked as an amazing sealer, as my makeup lasted a long time, but also made my skin look and feeling amazing, as a result. I have tried numerous makeup setting sprays and I have yet to find one as good as this wonderful addition to Mac Cosmetics. Not only is this setting spray hydrating, it's absorbing and tends to do the job instantaneously. I also love the fact that this product is lightweight and not sticky or overly wet. Mac's Fix+ Spray is only $19 and can be purchased from the official website or at your nearest Mac Cosmetics counter. If you are looking to purchase one of the best makeup setting sprays in the world today, I truly recommend this one.

Searching for a quality makeup setting spray should never be as complicated as searching for Mr. or Mrs. Right. If you are looking for a wonderful makeup setting spray, you cannot go wrong with Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix. When shopping at Sephora in Atlanta, GA I had the perfect opportunity to discover this product. I have been a fan of Make Up For Ever for several years, so I had an instinct this product would not fail and guess what? I was 100% right. This beauty product is simply remarkable. Not only is this product very moisturizing, but it is spellbinding. Once I applied this to my face, after applying my makeup, my makeup lasted a very long time. I have become relatively picky, yet reasonable with my choice in makeup products, but I can honestly say that if you don't own this product, you are truly missing out. Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix spray is only $27 and is available at Sephora. Searching for a great setting spray should never be hard work, which is why this beauty essential should be in your beauty bag right now. This product is also available in travel size for only $8.

Urban Decay is one of those brands that you either love or dislike. You never hate it and more people tend to appreciate it over anything else. Not only is Urban Decay incredibly diverse and audacious, they are very ingenious, yet imaginative and manage to create products that are original and effective. In the case of makeup setting sprays, Urban Decay has managed to create three individual sprays that all possess different benefits. Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray is a spray that works for every skin type, but works best for those with normal to combination. Just a few sprays of this after applying your makeup and your face is set. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray works best for those with oily skin. If you are one of those girls that goes to the gym, you will appreciate this makeup setting spray. Urban Decay Dew Me Moisturizing Makeup Setting Spray works for you people that have dry skin. If you are someone who has a dry skin and wants some moisture, you are ordained to love this product. I have found that these products are great for those with sensitive skin, as well. These incredible additions to Urban Decay are all $29 and can be purchased at your nearest Urban Decay retailer or at Sephora. Urban Decay's products are also vegan friendly, making them relatively healthy. Every product that is created by Urban Decay is free parabens and is dermatologist tested, making them worthy of purchasing. They also emphasize on creating products that are cruelty free.

I love Sephora and one of the best makeup setting sprays of 2011 is definitely Sephora Collection's "Tricks of the Trade" Makeup Setting Mist. I noticed that most people who shop at Sephora tend to single out Sephora brand products. This is definitely one of the biggest fallacies in beauty today and this makeup setting mist is an example why. Sephora Collection's "Tricks of the Trade" Makeup Setting Mist is a fantastic product that creates a completed base, which permits your makeup to stay put, without fading or creasing. I have tried so many makeup setting sprays and Sephora's did not fail to disappoint me. This brilliant addition to Sephora is lightweight, so it's reasonably natural. Sephora's "Tricks of the Trade" Makeup Setting Mist is available at Sephora for just $12.

A makeup setting spray works as a contribution to the finished product, as it is used after you have applied your makeup. Although one may find a primer to be enough, makeup is never complete without makeup setting spray. If you are looking for a terrific makeup setting spray, I sincerely suggest Model In A Bottle. I first discovered Model In A Bottle when I was browsing the reviews at Makeup Alley. I can honestly say, despite being overly reluctant to purchasing this product, what influenced me were the modestly positive reviews. Let's just put it this way, if you decide to attend a wedding or a funeral and you decide to shed a few tears, Model In A Bottle will demonstrate why it is one of the greatest setting sprays of 2011. This setting spray is also good for 300 sprays. For only $18 in change, can you honestly resist a product like this? To top it off, this product is also available to those with sensitive skin. If you are prone to any kind of skin irritation, you are destined to love this product. In fact, Model In A Bottle for Sensitive Skin is only $21 in change and is good for the same amount of uses. Make Model In A Bottle your setting spray.

When it comes to Kat Von D, she is known for many things. Although she gives off mixed messages to people, what attracts her to people is her talent, marketability, and her makeup. If you are looking for a great makeup setting spray, you cannot go wrong with Kat Von D Lock 'N Load Makeup Setting Mist. When Kat Von D created the 'N Load Makeup Setting Mist, she definitely knew what she wanted out of a product. This product is not sticky, which makes it even better. This awesome addition to Kat Von D is guaranteed to set your makeup for up to 16 hours, which is over half a day. Kat Von D is known for her makeup and we know she wears a lot of it. You can purchase Kat Von D's Lock 'N Load Makeup Setting Mist at Sephora for just $24. This is a new product for 2011, but despite being a novice in the makeup setting spray department, I can definitely see Kat Von D's Lock 'N Load Makeup Setting Mist doing well in the present, as well as, the future.

How to fake a nose job with makeup

Faking a nose job with makeup is rather simple. If you are a woman (or man) that struggles with a larger nose and you just don't want to go under the knife or spend thousands of dollars to get your nose corrected, this is truly one of the best solutions to your problem. Everyone is inimitable and possesses their own, unique, yet distinctive nose. Not everyone has the same nose. In fact, even women that spend thousands of dollars to achieve a nose like their favorite celebrity, they are still not going to get a nose that looks identical.

Although one may consider this to be contouring, it is different. Please keep in mind that faking a nose job is much different than contouring the nose. Contouring involves outlining and emphasizing, whereas; faking a nose job using makeup involves creating an illusion. Faking a nose job involves several steps, but overall it is very easy and quite undemanding. Let's get started!

You want to begin by priming your entire face with foundation primer. Foundation primer is a product that not only works as a wonderful base, that balances out skin, as well as, foundation, it works towards preventing your makeup from fading, so your makeup lasts long, as a result. There are numerous foundation primers in the beauty market today (good ones', bad ones', ok ones', i.e.), so you can use any one of them. For this tutorial, I am going to be using Smashbox's "Photo Finish Primer". You want to apply this all over the skin.

As you let the primer set, you want to gather your concealer, as well as, foundation. You can use any foundation and concealer you want, however; you want to use a full coverage of both products on your nose. You want to use something that is wet, so that means something liquid or cream based rather than powder. Stick foundations are great also, if you want full coverage. There are thousands of foundations. Choose a foundation that is full coverage. If you are uncertain of concealer that is full coverage, I truly recommend Make Up For Ever's (or MUFE) Full Cover Concealer or Mac Cosmetics Select Cover Concealer.

For my foundation, I am going to use Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid in shade NC42. Keep in mind, we all have different skin tones, so if you purchase this product, make sure you are matched appropriately. You can get matched at your local Mac Counter. For my concealer, I am going to use Mac Cosmetics Select Cover Concealer in NC42. You can apply your concealer first or your foundation first. I am well aware that everyone has a different makeup regime. I am going to apply my concealer first, followed by my foundation. Then, I am going to touch up face with my concealer again.

Using your fingers or a concealer brush, you want to apply the concealer. Then, you want to take a foundation brush and apply the foundation. As you continue, you want to blend this out. To do this, I am going to use a Beauty Blender that I recently purchased from Sephora. Keep in mind, when you blend something out, that does not mean blend away. Then taking any blush brush, you want to matte this together by adding a translucent or clear powder. Recently I have acquired a huge love for Urban Decay's De-Slick Mattifying Powder, which I am going to use.

This is where everything tends to get a little trickier. We are going to start creating the fake nose job. You want to begin by applying primer all over the nose. Once you let it set, you want to apply concealer on the nose again. You do not need foundation. Next, you want to take thick powder and apply it on top of the concealer. When I say "thick" I simply mean, a powder that is non translucent. As you continue, you want to apply that thick powder on your nose. Using a regular shadow brush, you want to apply the powder all over your nose, blending out, into your face.

To create the fake nose job, I am going to use a contour kit that I purchased recently from Sephora. It is the Make Up For Ever's Sculpting kit, which includes two matte shades. I am going to use "3" which is a medium reddish brown paired with an ivory beige shade that works well with my skin tone, which is on the dark side. If you know anything about Mac Cosmetics, I am an NC42. If you don't want to spend money on any sculpting kit, you are going to want to use two matte shades. Depending on your skin tone, you will want a shade that is about 2 shades darker than your skin tone and another shade that is more beige or cream colored. Make sure these shades are matte and possess absolutely no shimmer. You can find matte eye shadows within just about any makeup line.

Using an liner brush, you want to line the sides of your nose with the darkest shade. If your nose tends to be longer, you want to line below the nose, but also stay on top of the bottom of the nose. If your nose tends to be larger in width, you want to line the sides of the nose with the same shade, but make sure you go in a little more. Then using an angled shadow brush (preferably medium), you want to apply the darkest shade. Use a sponge to blend out. My favorite current cosmetic sponge is definitely the Beauty Blender, which you can purchase at Sephora.

Are you having fun yet? As you continue, you want to make sure there are no visible lines. Using a small angled brush, you want to apply the lightest matte shade. Down the area that you did not shade with the darker color. You want take also apply the lightest shade on the bottom side of the nose. Unlike contouring (and this is where the fake nose job is different) you want to take the light shade and light the sides of your nose, so you have a total of three shades. If we were just contouring the nose, we would exclude the two light shades added to the sides.

Using a cosmetic sponge, you want to blend the colors out. Remember, you should have a parallel of color that goes from light matte to dark matte to light matte to dark matte to light matte. If you feel you have made any mistakes, do not hesitate to correct them. You can do this by simply retouching. Just take into account, if you do retouch, you want to blend, so your fake nose job looks natural.

Look in the mirror. Do you notice a difference? You just created a nose job using makeup. How simple was that? Good luck.

Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup Look

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue prove that they are one of the greatest football teams in the world today. Although my opinion of them being the greatest, current football team may be a little overstated to some, it is quite evident that there are also others that agree with me. Not only are the Pittsburgh Steelers the only team in history to have more AFC Championship wins then any other football team, they are also the only team to have the most Superbowl wins, making them at the top of their game. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC to date, making them filled with major amounts of seniority.

Because I love the Pittsburgh Steelers so much, I have decided to create the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look. You don't have to be a Steelers fan to rock this look, however; it does help. Especially on game day. This is a look that can be worn at games and at parties. Are you ready? Let's get started!

First and foremost, it is very important to apply foundation primer to your face. If you are unaware, foundation primer works as a base, allowing your makeup to last longer throughout the day without fading or creasing. If you are confused as to what foundation primer to buy, I truly recommend Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer, which is what I am going to use today to create the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look.

Once you have applied your foundation primer, you want to let it set for about a minute before applying your foundation and concealer. Foundation is quite acquired and as some foundations work for others, those same foundations do not work for everyone. You can use any foundation you want.

Whether affordable or high-end, as long as you wear a foundation. Today, I am going to use Make Up For Ever's (commonly known as "MUFE") Invisible Cover Foundation in "160 Golden Beige". Please keep in mind that you should NOT use this shade, unless you are this shade. Shades vary upon person to person and if you are confused as to what shade you are, you want to get matched by a makeup artist, as this will determine what your actual shade is.

Concealer is entirely optional. When I apply it, I like to apply it before my foundation and then touch up after I apply my foundation. For my concealer, I am going to use Select Cover Concealer by Mac Cosmetics in NC42. Please note, as stated above, you do not have to use this actual shade. In fact, I do not expect everyone to have the same skin tone as myself, so I highly recommend getting matched at your nearest makeup counter. This will give you an idea of the kind of makeup you want to use.

As you continue, you want to apply a powder to set your foundation and concealer. There are so many types of powders. If you are looking for heavier coverage, I recommend using something that is powder based. If you are looking for light coverage, you want to use something translucent. In fact, that is what I am going to use. Translucent powder. If you know anything about translucent powder, you will know that it is rather lucid. It is clear powder which works as a setter. Lately I have developed a major love for Urban Decay's De-Slick Mattifying Powder, which is what I am going to use to set my foundation and concealer.

I want to make this a fun look, yet a wearable look that can be worn all of the time, rather than on occasion. We are going to use a luminizer. This is a beauty essential that works great to give your face a natural, yet subtle dewy look. I think that luminzers make your skin appear hydrated and as a result, your skin looks more vibrant and radiant.

Luminizers come in a variety of different forms, but for today, to create the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look, I am going to use a liquid form. I am going to use Stila's All Over Liquid Shimmer in "Liquid Gold" is lightweight luminizer that works as a sheen to create a nice, yet natural healthy glow.

Honestly, this look would not be no where near completion without blush. For this look, I want to use a cream based blush, as it is notorious for staying on longer than powder blush, without vanishing throughout the day. For this look, I want to use a gold blush and today, I am going to go with NARS Cream Blush in "Gold Member" which is a stunning gold shimmer. I am going to apply this generously to the apples of my cheeks creating a natural contour.

Are you having fun yet? I hope so because even if you are not, the fun is about start now. You want to begin by priming the eye. There are so many eye shadow primers in the beauty industry today, however; I love using Urban Decay's Eye Shadow Primer Potion. I am going to start by applying this all over the eyes. I am, then going to use Mac Cosmetics Paint Pot in "Blackground" which is gorgeous black pearl and apply that directly to just my lid without passing into the crease. Keep in mind, there are many dupes for Mac's Blackground, so you don't have to use this.

As you let that set for about a minute, you want to focus on applying eye shadow. For this look, I am going to use three different eye shadows. A neutral shadow, which will be the main shadow. A dark shadow, which will be the primary enhancer. Lastly, I am going to use a light shadow, which will work as a highlight. These three shades combined create a wonderful look that I am proud to have created and share with you.

Initially, for the neutral shadow, I am going to use a matte yellow. Although the Steelers are notorious for being referred to as "black and gold" the gold looks more like a bright golden yellow than it does an actual gold color. Because I used the dark paint pot, I am going to use a matte dazzling dramatic yellow eye shadow to create this look. I am going to use Mac's eye shadow in "Chrome Yellow". Using an eye shadow brush, you want to apply this all over the lid, packing it on. You want to go slightly into the crease, but you want to stop. Do not blend.

The darkest shade is very important in the creation of the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup Look because it allows the entire look to come to life. For the darkest shade, you want to use black, but not just any black. You want to use a black that possesses shimmer, rather than a matte. For this look, I am going to open my NARS eye shadow that I bought a week ago from Sephora. I am going to use NARS eye shadow in "Night Clubbing" which is a black shimmer that is more on a gold pearl wavelength, rather than silver. There are so many in the market, it would be impossible not to find a dupe for what I am using. Using an angled brush, you want to apply the darkest shade on the corner of your eye, into the lid, slightly passing up into the crease. You want to blending by smoking it over about half way. Then using a crease brush, you want to apply it to the crease.

Last but not least, I am going to apply my lightest shade. For this shade, I am going to use a white matte. I am going to use Make Up For Ever's eye shadow in "White 0". I am going to apply this shade in the brow bone, blending it out towards the neutral and dark shade.

Choosing a liner for this look should never be rocket science, which is why I am going to help you out. For the liner, I am to use not one, but two to create the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look. For the pencil liner, going to use a black to line the waterline. For the gel liner, I am going to use a gold shade.

For the gel liner, I am going to use Sephora's Waterproof Smoky Cream Liner in "Rags To Riches" which is a beautiful metallic gold. Once I have applied this using an eye liner brush, I am going to take some of my neutral eye shadow (which is Mac's "Chrome Yellow") and foil it into the gel liner, applying it on top of the liner I just applied.

As you continue, you simply want to line your waterline with a black eye liner. This should be pencil based. It is quite relevant that there are so many black eye liners in pencil form, in the beauty market today, however; my favorite is definitely Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. I am going to use "Zero" which is a heavily pigmented rich black.

Lash primer is definitely a makeup product that is worth investing in. Applying a lash primer is optional, however; if you want your mascara to stay on, I highly recommend it. I love Shiseido's the best because it is one of the few in the market that actually lives up to it's marketed concept. There are so many though, so choosing one should not be that hard.

Mascara is amazing and one of my favorite beauty products to use, especially when creating inspired looks. For the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look, I am going to use just a black mascara. For this look, I am going to use Diorshow Mascara in "Black 090" which is a nice resonant black. Although I have thought about using gold, because the gold shade is more metallic and not really colorful like the Steelers uniform, it just wouldn't look right. I may save the gold shade for a New Orleans Saints Inspired Makeup look.

If you look at a Steelers logo or even a jersey, you will notice some red color to it and not just any red, bright red. For the Pittsburgh Inspired Makeup look, I am definitely going to have a little fun with it and do the red lips. I am going to line the lips with a red lip liner before applying my red lipstick. For the lips, I have used Make Up For Ever's Waterproof Lip liner pencil in "Red 8C" and NARS Lipstick in "Jungle Red" which is a very bright, yet vibrant semi matte red color. You can find so many alternatives to these colors.

You have just created the Pittsburgh Steelers Inspired Makeup look. The Pittsburgh Steelers are destined to be champions, as they are true champions. Whether they win or lose the Superbowl, they are still winners in my eyes. Do you think the Pittsburgh Steelers will win the Superbowl? I have a distinct feeling that is a major possibility.

What is a Makeup Dupe?

Once upon a time, back in 2000, I was surfing the internet checking out numerous choices to some of my favorite beauty products. After pondering and deliberating my overall choices, I couldn't help but question the terminology I noticed throughout the actual beauty market exchange. Especially one that really caught my attention. The word "dupe".

When one thinks of the word dupe, they often think of a way to trick someone or to deceive them. Never would I have ever imagined that the word dupe in the beauty world had an entirely different meaning. So, what is a dupe in the beauty world? What is a makeup dupe? A dupe is simply an alternative to a product. It simply means another option to something.

If you are on any beauty affiliated message board or any makeup forum and someone says "That is a fantastic dupe" they simply mean "That is a fantastic alternative" to the product and/or products in question. Whether cheaper, the same price, or even more expensive then the original product, "dupes" exist for just about any beauty necessity.

For instance, if you are looking for a dupe for Illamasqua lipstick in "Fable" which is a very vibrant, yet uplifting bubble gum pink matte shade, more than likely there is always a substitute. In fact, as much as I love Fable, one of my favorite dupes for the shade is Sephora's Maniac Mat Long Wearing Matte lipstick in "Mat 01" which is a bright pink matte.

Dupes let you to discover new products. If you are budget cognizant or looking to try something a little more superior, you are ordained to find that specific alternative, you are destined to find that dupe. Dupes also allow you to discover new favorites, that you never knew existed.

I have been a Mac Cosmetics aficionada for a long time and I have always thought that they were the only cosmetic company in the world to create a spray like Studio Fix Spray. If you are a makeup enthusiast, you will know that their product is amazing and it lets you to set your makeup, allowing it to last for a long time. I also love this product because it's moisturizing, but not harsh and is generally good for your skin.

It wasn't until the past few years that I found several "dupes" for this product. Everything from Make Up For Ever's Mist & Fix Spray to Urban Decay's All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (and Urban Decay makes three major types) and more.

Of course you will develop a true liking and love for products that are original and cannot be "duped", but there are more alternatives (aka dupes) than not.
