When it comes to 'Glow in the Dark' hair, the trend is one of the hottest in hair right now. Whether you are looking to change your style or simply searching to make a statement, this is one of the best ways you can make that happen. "This would be a great look for club kids, night clubs or parties inspired by Coachella’s "Neon Carnival" where they heavily use Black Lights to bring the glow in the dark colors to life. I would also recommend for artistic people who tend to have less limitation on their appearance," Matrix SoColor stylist George Papanikolas said. "This look is super easy for blondes because they are able to skip the pre-lightning process, but if you have dark hair, it can take a few sessions before you can get to the “glow” but do not fret! You can start small, and apply small slithers to the ends because this look usually starts with pre-lightening of the hair."

March 2016: Beauty Favorites

As we said goodbye to the second month of 2016, we Spring into the third month of 2016 - March. March was the month of St. Patrick's Day which was celebrated on the 17th, as March was the day of Norooz, the Persian New Year. March is also the beginning of Spring which was celebrated on the 22nd. Each and every day I have had the opportunity to discover some of the greatest beauty products along with a couple of non-beauty favorites too. So, what are my favorite beauty products for the month of March?

MAKEUP

Not only does my skin feel amazing after using this serum, it looks amazing too. And after a week, I noticed dramatic results. I have tried so many sunscreens and this is by far the most effective one. If you are looking for a very powerful yet potent sunscreen that does not irritate the skin, this one is for you. You can find this sunscreen at Shiseido for $42. I have yet to find a sunscreen as good as this one.

NAILS
When I first discovered Walk of Fame from Red Carpet Manicure, I guess you could say that I ultimately fell in love. Everything from the gold shimmer shade to pigment to the color produced. Plus, the shade itself is very much in season and complements every shade for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. This is my favorite nail polish right now. TOOLS

Get the hair look: Shailene Woodley at the Divergent 'Allegiant' premiere

Shailene Woodley recently attended the Divergent 'Allegiant' premiere where she stunned the red carpet in a lavish Elie Saab jumpsuit. Woodley is primarily known for her role as Beatrice "Tris" Prior in the series, where she plays a fairly free-spirited, headstrong who is completely fearless in more ways than one. Recently, the beautiful California born actress teamed up with celebrity stylist Keith Carpenter for a natural hair look that complemented Woodley's outfit for the big night.
“Shailene really wanted her look to be very natural and undone with slight direction,” celebrity stylist Keith Carpenter said about the actress's hair look.

So, is it possible to re-create this hair look at home?

First and foremost, you want to prep your hair by washing with shampoo and conditioning. Then, you want to apply the Matrix Total Results Rock It Texture Sea Salt Spray and allow your hair to air dry.

Once your hair is roughly dried, take the Matrix StyleLink Texture Builder and apply it to your hair. As you continue, you are going to want to take a 1½ inch flat iron to curl your hair. Dr. Edwin Williams discusses scarless rhinoplasty

Dr. Williams offers an array of surgical and non-surgical procedures for the face and the body, but he primarily specializes in scarless rhinoplasty. Recently, I spoke with Dr. Williams directly about scarless rhinoplasty. Here is what he had to say...
(Q) You specialize in scarless rhinoplasty, which means there are no external incisions at all. How does that work?

E.W: The earlier versions of rhinoplasty worked this way, in the 1970s they used to do it this way. Then in the 1980s, it became popular to open the nose up. Fast forward to now, and we're seeing that we are destabilizing the nose.

(Q) Not very many doctors are trained at doing rhinoplasty this way.

​E.W: Your skills are rare, highly refined and yet very much needed for patients. If anyone wants scarless rhinoplasty, you are the surgeon to do it.​ I was lucky enough to have a mentor to teach me closed and open approach, so I learned both ways. If you're trained on the open approach it could be intimidating to do closed. The popularity of opening the nose- it's fun to do. I did that for years. It takes years for training . I happen to be an early adapter because I was very fortunate to have a mentor who did everything closed. I've never been happier with my results, my patient's recoveries.

Usually the nose is opened up. How does the closed approach work and differ? The closed approach is very precise and uses limited dissection, limited removing of tissues. A well- balanced nose looks smaller. You do the closed approach by understanding the principles of rhinoplasty, using small incisions and fiber-optics and small instruments. Instead of opening up the hood of car, you do it all internally. It is more intimidating and technically demanding and that's why a lot of people open the nose. Through small incisions, micro-instrumentation, a balanced approach, we do a scarless rhinoplasty.

(Q) How does closed rhinoplasty affect the recovery and surgery process?

E.W: It's much easier. Instead of a three hour surgery, it's an hour and a half. I don't have to pack the nose. With the open technique, the patient will have more swelling and recovery since the whole nose is opened up. There is no question that there is much more of a recovery when opening the nose. And of course, there is no scar with the closed approach.

(Q) How does it affect the results?

​E.W: Patients will have no scar because there has been such a movement towards opening the nose. there are more and more severe complications opening the nose. With the closed approach, I have more control as a surgeon with my outcomes. My outcomes are more predictable. less dissection, fewer variables. Since I specialize in natural results, this is all important to me.

(Q) What else do you do in rhinoplasty surgery that makes it a most positive experience for the patient?

E.W: We have an amazing system here. We have a smooth landing every time. The person who does the rhinoplasty anesthesia, that's all they do. We work as a team in unison to create a perfect symphony. It comes down to our team, which is very caring and experienced. We specialize in doing it right the first time and natural results. We specialize in scarless rhinoplasty.​

Get the makeup look: Lupita Nyong'o at the Eclipsed on Broadway premiere

Lupita Nyong'o is one of the greatest actresses of our generation. As she made history with 12 Years A Slave, Nyong'o is blowing up the spotlight again in her Broadway debut. In fact, Sunday night she really shined when she stunned the red carpet at the Eclipsed on Broadway premiere. The award-winning actress and Lancôme ambassadress recently teamed up with celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose for a beautiful makeup look which complemented her forest green gown, which she wore at the premiere Sunday night.
"To complement her beautiful forest green Balmain dress, I wanted the makeup to be fresh and colorful. To draw inspiration from nature. We went with a bold, orangey flaming lip color similar to African tulips I saw in the Summer" celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose said about the makeup look.
 
So, is it possible to re-create this makeup look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, you are going to want to prep the skin. To keep the Academy Award winning actress's skin luminous and glowing, Barose used the Lancôme Advanced Génifique. As he continued with preparation he applied the Lancôme La Base Pro Pore Eraser. This product works amazingly to tone down shine on the T-Zone area.

Barose, then evened out her skin tone by applying the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick in 550 Suede C along with the Lancôme Le Corrector Pro Concealer Kit in 550 Deep Suede OS. As Barose continued, he added a bit of Lancôme Translucence Mattifying Silky Pressed Powder in 550 Suede on the T-Zone area. To finish the face, he applied the Lancôme Blush Subtil in Shimmer Petit Pomegranate to the actress's cheeks.

Now taking the Lancôme Sourcils Gel Waterproof Eyebrow Gel-Cream in 06 Noir, Barose filled in Nyong'o's brows. Barose, then prepped the lids with Lancôme Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base in 06 Sienne. As he continued, he used the Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil in Cote D’Azur along the upper lash line, and a bit on the bottom. To complete the eyes, Barose added two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara in Black.

As Barose continued with the makeup look, he, then applied the few coats of Lancôme Rouge In Love Lipcolor in 146B Miss Coquelicot on Nyong'o's lips. Then , he added a bit of shine using the new Lancôme Juicy Shaker Pigment-Infused Bi-Phase Lip Oil in 154 Great Fruit in the center of the lips. Finally, to complete this entire makeup look, the celebrity makeup artist traced the lip line using Lancôme Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolate.

(Q) That is fantastic. For those beauty enthusiasts and app editing lovers reading this interview, what would you like them to know? What is next for Perfect Corp?

A.C: Perfect Corp was born out of our desire to apply leading technological expertise to the beauty industry and transform beauty lovers’ experience. With my background in the software IT industry - a typically male dominated space - I wanted to find a way to fuse technology with beauty and fashion. Perfect Corp. gives people the tools to express themselves with makeup, and connects virtual creations to real world fashion.

This personalization of beauty and beauty through technology allows women like me to explore and develop our own style. In 2016 and beyond, we will be there to drive the transformation of the beauty industry. We will continue to build the ultimate platform where brands, publications, industry gurus and users can meet and interact, both in the virtual and real world.
